Letters from Valerie
Subscribe to the newsletter.
New Journal entries, the occasional wedding column, and whatever forty-five years in ballrooms taught her that still applies. Sent when there is something worth sending — not on a schedule.
What arrives
Writing, not marketing.
Each letter carries a new piece from the Journal or Valerie’s Weddings, occasionally with something that did not make it onto the site. No sequences, no upsells, no reminders that you have not opened the last one.
- Occasional
A handful of letters a year, sent when there is new writing — never on an automated cadence.
- Confirmed
You will get one email asking you to confirm. Nothing is sent until you do, so nobody can subscribe you.
- Yours to leave
Every letter carries an unsubscribe link that works immediately, no questions and no reply required.
- Never shared
Your address is used for the newsletter and nothing else. It is not sold, rented, or handed to advertisers.

Questions
How often will I hear from you?
Only when there is new writing. That has meant a handful of letters a year rather than a weekly obligation.
I subscribed but nothing came.
Check your spam folder for the confirmation email — the subscription does not start until you click the link inside it. If it never arrived, send a message and we will sort it out.
How do I unsubscribe?
Use the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any letter. It takes effect immediately. You can also reach the unsubscribe page directly.
What do you do with my email address?
Store it, send you the newsletter with it, and nothing else. The full detail is in the privacy statement.
